Boris Johnson is reported to have said that Margaret Thatcher deserves credit for closing the UK’s coal mines in the 1980s, and that it was her ‘forgotten legacy’ in the fight against climate change.
Controversially he is said to have laughed, adding ‘I thought that would get you going’.
The PM made the comments during a briefing to newspaper journalist while on a trip to Scotland to visit off shore wind projects.

thatcher never forgot the dispute with the miners in the 70’s, so she wanted revenge, its as simple as that !
Brush the hair
Thatchers policy was nothing to do with the environment, it was about crushing unions and getting cheap coal from Eastern Europe and China. Just like Maggie, Boris doesn’t care one iota about working class people or industrial areas of the UK.
However, the UK has just recently approved the first new coal mine in years….sounds like the UK isn’t so clear on renewables. Let those North Sea gas pipelines get shut down again and watch what happens! The UK needs to remember it is an island and doesn’t have the resources, wind or sun to sustain the need for energy. Fools in the making.
