
The prime minister assures MPs that the government “will be doing everything we can to support those who have helped the UK mission in Afghanistan” and to avert a humanitarian crisis.
He adds that soldiers who fought in Afghanistan should be “proud of their achievements” as they “provided vital protection for two decades” to Afghanistan.
The PM says the UK government owes it to these soldiers to “help the people of Afghanistan to choose the best of all their possible futures”.
