New Health Secretary Sajid Javid has told MPs that he is determined to end Covid restrictions in England in exactly three weeks time.
He said people needed their freedoms back as quickly as possible so the country would have to learn to live with the disease.
Mr Javid became health secretary on Saturday night after Matt Hancock resigned following revelations that he broke Covid rules during an affair with his adviser.
Boris Johnson is facing questions over why he did not sack Mr Hancock but waited for him to resign.
