
Boris Johnson says he’ll ask US President Joe Biden to extend his 31 August deadline to leave Afghanistan when the two talk at the G7 virtual summit on Tuesday.
But the crisis has highlighted how little leverage the UK has to exert its influence in the region – and over the US.
If the US leaves Afghanistan on 31 August, the UK will have little choice but to follow.

Believe me or not, if US and western countries will announce that they will evacuate all the Pakistanis, or Indians or Bangladeshi or Sri Lankans who feel their life to be in danger because of their Governments, then half of the population in those countries will rush to airports making false claims. There are certainly few peoples who are really scared of Taliban, but majority of the people at Kabul Airport are those who wants to resettle in US for better economic opportunities
Biden said they had twenty years to sort themselves out. Then he let’s the Taliban back in . They were never going to change. All the lives lost and the families of all the loved ones lost, has been all in vain. Powerful are protected.
